Wedding Wear for a Beachy Celebration

There is nothing more beautiful than an outdoor wedding at the Lake of the Ozarks. Our rolling hills and green trees, combined with the shimmering Lake make for a perfect backdrop as you and your fiance say your "I Do's". The big question is, what should you wear at an outdoor beach wedding? Here are a few of our suggestions!

Bride & Bridesmaids

A beautiful beach wedding at the Lake of the Ozarks doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on style, though you may want to be aware of your wardrobe. Sand and sun can play an entirely different role on your dress, so you may want to consider shorter dresses, and light flowing materials that breath. Not to say you can't get married in a full-length ball gown with satin and lace, but prepare yourself for possible wear and tear to your dress as it drags across the ground and through sand. You should also opt for sandals or flats, as they'll be easier to walk in the sand with, and make for an easy transition on to the dance floor afterwards. Better yet, get married barefoot with your toes buried in the sand!

Groom & Groomsmen

Think white and beige. With nerves already being high in your groom, you won't want to put him in a black tux with all of the trimmings. You can also look for linens and light cottons. Trust us, the guys will thank YOU!!

Parents

As parents of the bride and groom you get to let the bride be your guide! If the groomsmen are wearing casual khaki's, then Dad's get to do the same. For the mother of the bride at a beach wedding, you can get a way with light fabrics and shorter dresses. Keep your shoes simple, if there is sand you don't want your heels to be sinking into it, or having to empty your shoes all of the time. As for colors, take cues from the wedding. You don't have to match, but you can complement the wedding party.

Guests

If you've been invited to an outdoor wedding on the Lazy Gators Beach, think causal, unless the invite specifies otherwise. Same as the wedding party, you can enjoy shorter summer dresses, lighter fabrics, and fun sandals and flats! For men, shorts, casual button up shirts, and sandals are totally acceptable! Think light colors and light fabrics. You may be sitting in the sun for the ceremony, so even cute hats and sunglasses are a great idea!
