There's something about winter. It’s cold, dreary, snowy, and once Christmas is out of the way it’s just boring. Thankfully, you can add a little sunshine to a dreary season by planning a vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks! It's true that we don’t get a lot of snow for skiing or snowboarding, and the lake is cold so you may not want to go out on it (though it’s great for fishing, still!). We do have warmer days perfect for golfing trips, fun places to go shopping, great restaurants to eat out at, and beautiful views even amidst the gray winter months. Outdoor Activities

Don’t think there’s anything to do outside during the winter at the Lake? Think again! The lake area offers plenty of outdoor activities for those who are adventurous. From hiking trails at local parks like HaHa Tonka and the Lake Ozark State Park. There are still many nice days, as we mentioned above, during a Missouri winter. So if you plan your vacation and get lucky enough to find a 70-degree day you and your family can get out and really enjoy it! From golfing on premium courses here at the Lake to trying your hand at our mini golf courses, going shopping at the premium outdoor outlet, or even walking around the Camdenton Square and stopping in the cute shops.

Delicious Restaurants

The Lake of the Ozarks is home to incredible places to eat. Fine dining, fun hole in the wall restaurants, and more. The only sad news is that Shady and Lazy Gators don’t open up until the spring. So if you come in the winter, you’ll miss out on our incredible Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, or our Baja Bistro with the best tacos at the Lake of the Ozarks. While the winter months do provide fewer guests to compete with at your favorite restaurants, not all of your favorites will be open in the winter, so that is something to think about while planning your winter vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Cozy Views

When you get to one of our vacation rentals at the Lake of the Ozarks, you’ll notice a few things. Most of our units have an incredible view of the Lake of the Ozarks. Even in winter, the main channel views can be incredible and worth taking a vacation in the winter! Plus, a few of our units have fireplaces in them, which can make for an incredibly cozy winter vacation. Cozy homes, beautiful views, what more could you ask for?
