Friday Night Foam Parties are Back!
History of Foam Parties
A "foam party" is a social event in which participants dance to music on a dance floor covered in several feet of suds and bubbles. Foam parties can be dated back to "A Rhapsody in Black and Blue," a 1932 short where Louis Armstrong dances, sings and plays his trumpet in a large area of soap suds. Modern foam parties however, were developed in the early 1990s by club promoters in Ibiza. Generally, large ceiling mounted foam generators created a large volume of foam that fell from the ceiling onto club goers. As Ibiza foam parties became more popular, the craze spread. In 1992, the foam cannon was introduced to the UK by developer Roy Barlow. Foam parties are now conducted all across the US and throughout other countries as well.
